Our Lady of Guadalupe

Ana Nunez and Raul Reyes

As December starts,  the Catholic Church starts its yearly traditions of celebrating our Lady of Guadalupe. The celebrations kicked off this past Sunday afternoon with the parade that walks from Cathedral to Our Lady of Perpetual Help. The parade consist of floats, music, Charro teams, and traditional Danzantes. Once they arrive at Perpetual the dancers continue to dance in the church parking lot where on the building there is a portrait of Virgin Mary or many of them carry their own. The dancers dance at various houses and churches leading up to December 11 where they dance at night from Tortilleria Los 3 Potrillos to Perpetual where they arrive at midnight to sing Las Mananitas.
