Roughly a year ago, an app called Talking Angela was released. In this app, a cartoon cat named Angela hangs out in a café and will repeat what the person using the app says. There is also a type of chat room where users can speak with other users, this chat room can only be accessed when child mode is off. Very recently, rumors started circulating on social media websites that this app is a place for pedophiles to stalk and get to know children. One girl reported that while using the app, Angela asked her, “Where is your Brother?” Other chain posts on Twitter show a news post saying that children have gone missing from using this app. However, no record can be found of any children going missing after using this app. Talking Angela is made with chat bot software so people are capable of talking for Angela. However, other companies have told the media that it is impossible to have anyone behind the app. With differing evidence, is this Talking Angela claim really the hoax people claim it to be?
