Ruben Rodriguez Rangel, a North High senior, might just seem like a regular teen waiting for graduation, but he is not just a regular student. Ruben was born in the middle of Miguel Auza, Zacatecas, but moved to the United States when he was five. He is currently 17 years old and turns 18 on New Years. Ruben plans to go to Wichita State University once graduated from high school. Rodriquez said, “This is the most challenging year of my life, but life’s great!” Ruben hopes to become independent by living on his own with a good job within five years. His fluency and knowledge of both the English and Spanish language may land him a better paying job than he would get if he only knew one language. When asked how he would describe himself, Ruben Rodriguez said, “People say I look like other people a lot, but I would describe myself as optimistic, short and athletic.” He participates in weight lifting class, and takes interest in it very much. Other things Ruben enjoys include the color red, Pepsi, and his friends. Ruben is an outgoing person with his whole life ahead of him.
